Okay, my first post in years is going to be dedicated to mobile traffic and where you should be sending it.
First of all, we need to figure out how we're going to redirect the traffic.
If you're using WordPress, you would simply install WPtap mobile redirection plugin. It does all the heavy lifting for you. Just instert your target URLs and you're all done.
For Joomla, there's a similar extension called WAFL which basically does the same thing.
If you aren't using either of these CMS, then you will need to do a little bit more work.
Go to Detect Mobile Browsers.. You will need to upload a PHP script to your server and paste some code into your header file. It's very basic stuff, and should only take you a few minutes.
Okay, so now we know how to redirect the surfer, time to decide where we're going to send him.
There are a few different options depending on your niche.
I'm going to focus on three sponsors that are doing well for me.
PussyCash (for mobile webcams), Skin Video (for general mobile traffic, say from a tube etc.), and Top Bucks Mobile, if you have very specific traffic, like iPad or something.
These sponsors coupled with the aforementioned tools (which are free, by the way), should make you some relatively easy money. Just make sure you're sending the traffic to the right place or you're throwing money away.
I like Skin Video for general blog/tube traffic because their mobile tours look great, and they have a great custom linking tool which allows you to link directly to tag pages. So for my amateur blogs, I redirect them all to Skin Video's amateur page, which has free previews and is in a sort of tube layout, which surfers love. You can't go wrong here.
For my webcam traffic, I send them to Pussy Cash's new mobile video chat tours. I don't recommend sending traffic this way unless the surfer is already looking for live cams. For example, you have a cam blog bringing in targeted google traffic, phrases like "mobile webcam chat" etc. This stuff will convert great. On the other hand, if a guy visits your site looking for interracial gangbang and you force him to a cam tour, he ain't spending shit.
Last but not least, Top Bucks Mobile. They are great for iPod and iPad traffic etc. They have some slick looking tours which make it clear to the surfer they have iPod/iPhone format videos inside the members area. I have a lot of this kind of traffic and Top Bucks is converting it very well.
So that's it. A nice and easy way to make some money from your mobile traffic. In future, you might want to setup a centralized mobile site, and redirect all of your traffic there. For example, you have an Amateur blog, redirect the traffic to the corresponing page on your .mobi site where the surfer will have more choice. Let him decide where he wants to go next. But that's a whole nother post. Later folks
